Comments about the Houston area

  • I have practiced for almost fifty years and have seen dental hygiene compensation stagnate if not decline because of inflation. The marked increase of dental hygiene programs has flooded the market. Dentists have continued to raise fees without including all of staff in the increase in office revenue. Dentists do not seem to appreciate how much dental hygienists produce for the office with the increased number of SRP's done by hygienists.
  • I feel dentists are taking advantage of the economic situation- They know times are hard and hygienists need a job.
  • Like so many others, these days I find myself working even harder for less pay.
  • Sometimes job security and a good office are more important than a raise if you are getting paid good.
