• Pittsburgh area remains low in salary
• I have been a hygienist for 23 years. When I first graduated, you could walk into any dental office and get a job. Now that community colleges have offered dental hygiene programs the market has been flooded in the last 5 years.
• I have worked for my employer for 13 years last year he decided he did not want to pay benefits and cut the two hygienists to part time and hired two more. I have to work twice as hard to try and make my same salary as last year. I'm down a good $1,500 a month and with no health care. However, he kept the assistant and is paying her health care. Where's this fair? Jobs here in Pittsburgh are difficult to find,
