Are people ready for robot dentists?
August 14, 2012
Don’t forget what you’ve read about the patient-doctor relationship. CouponCodes4u.com has asked whether people would be more comfortable with having a “robot doctor” instead of a human doctor, and a majority of patients said they would prefer the personal interaction with a human doctor, while only 34% say they would opt for the robot. But remember what they say: cost is king. The number jumps a few points up to 98%, when people said they would consider the robot doctor if it resulted in a lower co-pay.
It seems if people could be guaranteed that the robot doctor was just as accurate (or maybe even more so!) than a doctor, and the price was lower, they would have no hesitation to switch from a human dentist to a robot dentist. It also eliminates the embarrassment from answering the question, “Have you been flossing?” Let’s face it – if the co-pay is less and the care just as good, who wouldn’t volunteer to be the patient of a robot doctor?
