Milestone Scientific Inc. (AMEX: MS) today announced an agreement with Benco Dental under which Benco Dental will distribute Milestone's CompuDent(TM) computer controlled local anesthetic delivery system, featuring the Wand(R) handpiece through their direct sales organization.
Benco has the right to become Milestone's exclusive dental
distributor in selected states within the United States if it achieves
certain sales objectives.
With 21 regional showrooms, over 200 sales representatives and sales in excess of $200 million, Benco Dental serves over 20,000 customers in 18 states, making them one of the leading distributors of high tech large and small dental equipment, including delivery systems, chairs, digital x-rays and air abrasion units, in the Eastern United States Stuart Wildhorn, Senior Vice President of Milestone, stated that "Since the re-launch of CompuDent at the end of last year, we have been working on partnering with a well established, well respected organization. The agreement with Benco is the culmination of this effort and provides significant momentum to our efforts.
Milestone will provide initial sales and product training to the
entire Benco sales organization in early May. Following these initial
training sessions, Milestone will support this effort through Dealer
Managers and Technical Support Specialists."
Milestone Scientific is the developer, manufacturer and marketer
of CompuMed(TM) and CompuDent(TM) computer controlled local anesthetic delivery systems. These systems comprise a microprocessor controlled drive unit as well as The Wand(R) handpiece, a single patient use product that is held in a pen like manner for injections. In 2001, Milestone Scientific received broad United States patent protection on "CompuFlo(TM)", an enabling technology for computer controlled, pressure sensitive infusion, perfusion, suffusion and aspiration, which provides real time displays of pressures, fluid densities and flow rates, that advances the delivery and removal of a wide array of fluids.
