Innovotech's technology approved as an international biofilm standard

Innovotech Inc. (TSX VENTURE:IOT), a pioneer in the field of biofilm product development, today announced that its MBEC Assay^™ has been approved as an ASTM International standard. The Assay was validated for testing the effectiveness of hard surface disinfectants formulated to kill biofilm.

According to Ken Boutilier, president of Innovotech, Inc., "The approval is significant because it is an acknowledgement from an international standards agency of the role of our technology as a biofilm growth standard. The first beneficiary of this approval will be disinfectant companies wishing to obtain an 'anti-biofilm' claim for their products. The ASTM approval body is comprised of many industry representatives who we are now working with us to incorporate our technology into their research and manufacturing quality control processes. All dental disinfectant companies will be affected by this approval."
