Lectures will focus on the benefits of CAD/CAM to small-sized laboratories during its 2007 LMT Laboratory Clinics.

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina--Sirona Dental Systems, a leading producer of dental CAD/CAM systems, will sponsor a series of lectures targeted to Korean dental laboratory owners.

The lectures will focus on the benefits of CAD/CAM to small-sized laboratories during its 2007 LMT Laboratory Clinics.

Presented by well-known dental laboratory owner and educator Patrick Lee, CDT, the lectures will be spoken exclusively in Korean. The presentation is geared toward the owners of small, one- to five-person laboratories.

It will review the CAD/CAM fabrication process for producing all-ceramic crowns, bridges, and frameworks, including tips and techniques to get the most out of a laboratory-based CAD/CAM system.

Attendees will also learn how CAD/CAM technology increases productivity and reduces the tedious, repetitive manual labor involved with traditional casting techniques.

An overview of all-ceramic CAD/CAM materials and their clinical applications will also be discussed by Lee, who has more than five years of firsthand knowledge and practical experience since incorporating inLab CAD/CAM into his dental laboratory in early 2002.

The dental industry has a dedicated and growing number of Korean laboratory owners. Sirona strives to support the Korean market because of their interest in new technology and contributions to the industry.

"With the growing number of Korean-owned laboratories, we try to have Korean language lectures and seminars for every laboratory event," said Norbert Ulmer, director of dental laboratory applications for Sirona.

"In addition, we are beginning to target Korean publications to announce upcoming events. Otherwise, due to language barriers, some technicians may not be aware of the complete extent of our offerings."
