Dental Hygienist Salary Survey 2014
Difficulty in finding a job as a dental hygienist in Idaho
Observation: Idaho provided the minimum of survey responses, 14. So we suspect there may be a few dental hygienists who disagree with these numbers. But it is worth nothing that almost 60% of those who responded think it is “very difficult” to find a job.
Length of time since last pay raise in Idaho
Observation: The national average for receiving a pay raise within the last year is 26%. So Idaho is doing very well in this regard.
Most common hourly pay rate in Idaho
$36
Observation: 33% said they earn $36 an hour. 67% earn rates in the $35 to $38 an hour range.
Descriptions of pay arrangements based on production or commission
- I earn 43% of my hygiene specific production. That is, any work I do like X-rays, cleanings, sealants, fluoride applications — anything I do. If I am behind and ask someone to take my X-rays, I would not earn anything for that production. I am not paid if a patient no shows/cancels, or for clean up, set up. I work for a discounted fee office as well, so our prices are generally lower than anywhere else.
