Eastman Kodak Company has selected a new waste management vendor, Dental Recycling North America, Inc. (DRNA), to provide lead recycling programs for Kodak's dental X-ray film customers.
In addition to lead recycling, DRNA offers comprehensive waste handling services, including the disposal of amalgam, sharps and chemicals. DRNA also offers associated recordkeeping and administrative programs to help dentists maintain and document their compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations.
"Dentists understand the importance of following environmental guidelines," said Ruth Arbuckle, general manager, United States and Canada, Kodak's dental systems. "But at the same time, the primary focus of a dental practice is patient care. So it's important to make it easy for dental practices to administer lead recycling. DRNA gives dentists a single-source solution for handling all hazardous and regulated wastes. "
"We're very proud that Kodak recognized the value we can offer to its customers' dental practices," said Marc M. Sussman, president and CEO, DRNA. "And as we begin assisting Kodak's customers, we look forward to increasing the level of service dentists expect from their waste handling vendor."
Kodak's dental customers with lead recycling boxes previously purchased from Kodak can continue to follow the directions on the box as in the past.
Kodak customers who need to purchase new recycling boxes can contact DRNA at (800) 360-1001 or visit www.drna.com.
