Curated clinical, endodontics, and pathology articles that are worth a second look
Stacey Gividen, DDS, understands that you don’t have time to read every dental article you come across by email, snail mail, or on social media—neither does she! Here she has curated past clinical reads that are definitely worth your time
After 15 miles of trampling through mud and enduring rain and wind, victory was ours to be had! Bigfork, Montana. May 2017.
If you’re like me, you don’t have time to read every dental article that comes across your email or social media forum. That’s the plain and simple reality. Understanding that, I’ve made it easy for you to take a few minutes to read some of the best articles from past deployments of our Breakthrough Clinical e-newsletter—the best clinical article, the best endodontics article, and of course, my favorite, the best pathology case. - Stacey L. Gividen, DDS
Why should you read these articles (if you haven’t already)? Because you really DO need to know about the link between periodontal disease and heart health. We owe it to our patients to be the comprehensive health-care providers they expect us to be. There's no more just "drill and fill,” my friends!
And of course, the big question in endodontics is, exactly where does the apex end? You'll find the answer in this article. Now, go tackle that root canal with aplomb and vigor!
Pathology ... it’s always going to be part of the clinical assessment with our patients. And if they smoke or chew tobacco, we need to
have candid discussions with them about that white lesion on their lower lip. Take a look at this case, because the summary information it contains can simplify your decision the next time you encounter a similar suspicious area of tissue.
