3M ESPE has received the silver 2005 Medical Design Excellence Award for the innovative design of the Clicker™ Dispenser for RelyX™ Luting Plus Cement.
The eighth annual awards program, supported by the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, recognizes product innovation, design and engineering excellence, end-user benefit and cost-effectiveness in manufacturing and health-care delivery.
Canon Communications LLC, publisher of Medical Device & Diagnostic Industry magazine and trade show producer, presented the award to 3M ESPE at the Medical Design & Manufacturing East 2005 Conference and Exposition in New York City on June 21.
The Clicker dispenser, recognized in the "Dental Instruments, Equipment and Supplies" category, is an easy-to-use, self-contained delivery system that reduces mess and assures consistent, reliable RelyX Luting Plus cement properties.
The newest addition to the RelyX family of cements, RelyX Luting Plus cement in the large, easy-to-use Clicker dispenser is an advanced, resin-modified glass ionomer luting cement with improved product performance when compared to powder-liquid cements. The double barrel Clicker dispenser offers 1:1 dosing and easy mixing. Additionally, RelyX Luting Plus cement requires no additional hardware.
