The American College of Dentists has announced that it has awarded Fellowship to Dr. Jeffrey Ganeles, a founding partner of the Florida Institute for Periodontics and Dental Implants.
The College, which promotes ethics, excellence and professionalism in dentistry, awarded Fellowship to Dr. Ganeles during its annual meeting and convocation on Oct. 12 in Kansas City, Mo.
Dr. Ganeles of Boca Raton, a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, has practiced in South Florida since 1990. He is actively involved with many local academic and professional institutions including Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine, where he is a Clinical Assistant Professor, the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and numerous local dental societies.
He is an active participant with the International Team for Oral Implantology (ITI), the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association and the Florida Dental Association. He has presented original research and dental techniques to many of these organizations.
Dr. Ganeles, who is widely published and lectures throughout the U.S. and Europe, recently co-authored a landmark study with his partners at the institute that establishes a revolutionary procedure for dental implants called TeethToday!(TM), which reduces the time required for patients to receive fixed replacement teeth with dental implants from six months to a mere 24 hours. The study was published in the May/June issue of the peer-reviewed International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants.
"This is a great honor not only for Dr. Ganeles but also for the whole practice," said Dr. Marvin Rosenberg, founding partner of the Florida Institute for Periodontics and Dental Implants with offices in Boca Raton, West Palm Beach and Wellington. "It's further proof of Dr. Ganeles' successes in advancing dentistry. And it underlines the recognition of the care and expertise we provide to our patients."
The American College of Dentists was founded in 1920 to recognize dentists who have made significant contributions to the advancement of dentistry. Fellowship in the College is by invitation and based on demonstrated leadership and contributions to the dental profession and society. Approximately 3.5% of dentists nationwide are Fellows of the American College of Dentists.
