Bio-Lok will formally introduce this new technology at the AAP meeting in New Orleans this September.

The US Patent Office has issued Patent No. 6,419,491 to Bio-Lok International Inc. for their "Laser-Lok" micro-grooved laser machined dental implant.

Bruce L. Hollander, president and chief executive officer of Bio-Lok International Inc. commented, "This is a very significant patent because we believe this surface treatment will prove superior for bone osseointegration and tissue connection and management. It allows the doctor to engineer or control biological width associated with bone tissue growth. Pre-clinical animal studies and early human experience continue to exhibit successful results. New data on restored implants in humans will be available next month from Italy." This technology will cross over to a number of medical applications as Bio-Lok continues its development and growth.
