Course Descriptions

Tooth Wear, Erosion and Dentin Hypersensitivity: Prevention and Management, presented by Terri Tilliss, RDH, MS, MA. Dentin hypersensitivity remains widespread and often an under dianosed condition. This symposium will focus on the variety of etiological and predisposing factors resulting in changes to the enamel surface. Discussion will explore preventive and management strategies that can easily be incorporated into everyday practice.

Oral Effects of Systemic Medications, presented by Ellen R. Guritzky, RDH, BS. Dental Professionals are challenged with the rise in patients who are suffering from dry mouth/xerostomia. Focus will be placed on the increased incidences of dry mouth sufferers as related to use of medications and conditions. Timely diagnosis and appropriate management of dry mouth/xerostomia can assist in the prevention of oral diseases, thereby preserving oral structures and function and could improve a patient's quality of life.
