TransFirst Health Services also will offer consultation on HIPAA compliance and account receivable strategies.

TransFirst Health Services, a wholly-owned TransFirst subsidiary that provides transaction processing and payment technologies specifically for healthcare and related merchants, today announced they have signed a three-year agreement to provide transaction processing services for the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) and its U.S. members.

TransFirst Health Services, which has developed a special
program tailored specifically to the needs of AAO members, is among the few payment-service providers with specialized experience in health care and in serving the needs of orthodontists.

Under this three-year processing agreement, AAO members will be eligible for a processing program in which pricing is based on the processing volume of the entire association. By capitalizing on the significant economies of scale created by developing an association program, members are able to take advantage of pricing and service-level commitments that would not otherwise
be available to them based on their own smaller processing totals.
Additionally, TransFirst Health Services will offer check services to AAO members, as well as consulting services regarding VISA and MasterCard compliance, VISA and MasterCard and HIPAA privacy regulations, and account receivable reduction strategies.

"Just as health care related merchants' processing needs differ from those of traditional retail merchants, we recognize that orthodontists have payment program requirements that differ from those of the greater health care industry," said Christy Corey, president for TransFirst Health Services. "We are very honored to have been selected by the AAO. We look forward to the next three years and commit to the AAO and its members that
they will experience first hand the expertise and service for which
TransFirst is known in the industry."

According to AAO representatives, TransFirst Health Services' experience and in-depth knowledge of the processing needs of orthodontic practices today, combined with the company's superior pricing, was key in the decision to award the contract to TransFirst. The AAO Board of Trustees approved
TransFirst Health Services' program for members in February.
