CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.--RTSP, LLC, has announced the launch of a new product, RetainerSplash.
Retainer Splash is an all-natural, patent pending, trademarked, and trade secret protected product. According to the American Association of Orthodontists, there are approximately 24 million Americans currently prescribed to wear orthodontic retainers. This figure increases annually by 2.8 million patients in the United States alone.
While the product is designed for use on retainers, local orthodontists and dentists have suggested potential efficacy on other removable appliances such as night guards. Company spokesperson Michael Pollock said, "We think we have discovered a consumer niche market for an all natural and effective cleaning product."
New retainer wearers frequently complain that stubborn soil and mineral build-up is difficult to clean with a toothbrush alone. Retainer wearers frequently spend thousands of dollars to have their teeth straightened but often fail to follow through by neglecting to wear the prescribed retainers.
"It is a compounding problem," said Pollock, who is also the inventor and retainer wearer. "Using a toothbrush or a denture cleaning tablet on retainers produces marginal results. Partially clean retainers continue to attract build up which eventually leads the patient to detest wearing the appliance."
RTSP, LLC, is a newly formed corporation in the Chattanooga area. The company's only product, Retainer Splas has twice been nominated for the Early Bird Sprit of Innovation Award.
The product is sold exclusively through its Web site at RetainerSplash.
As a practicing management specialist and organizational development consultant, Pollock enthusiastically noted that Retainer Splash is a project. "We all have great ideas, most that we eventually see someone else develop," he said. "To look back with regret is not a part of my strategy."
