Dentisoft Technologies and Lexi-Comp are proud to introduce a first ever Web-services integration between a dental practice system and a drug interaction database. Dentists who use Dentisoft Online will be able to access Lexi-Comp Online to check on drug interactions when treating patients.

Lexi-Comp Online integrates industry-leading databases and enhanced searching technology to bring dentists time-sensitive clinical information at the point-of-care. The user-friendly interface eliminates the need to navigate through multiple pages or make unnecessary mouse clicks to access key information. The database allows dentists to review all interactions for a selected medication or enter a patient-specific regimen to analyze for potential interactions. It also allows dentists to search over 5,000 images to identify a particular medication by form, color, shape, or markings.

"As today's dentists prepare to treat their patients, they are confronted with the need to understand more about the interaction between the drugs that the patient may be taking and the treatment they are going to render," commented Jeff Ulanet, CEO of Dentisoft Technologies. "By integrating the industry leading drug interaction database into our Dentisoft Online practice system, the dentist can access the information they need with a single click," added Ulanet.

"Lexi-Comp is extremely excited about this deployment of our product. It represents the first time a practice system can put drug interaction information into the hands of dental practitioners when it's most critical for them - when they are preparing to treat their patients," commented Brad Bolinski, Director of Dentistry for Lexi-Comp, Inc.
