Aquation Enterprises has introduced xylitol-enhanced bottled water, called Smile, as part of its New Nature Enhanced Water line of ultra-purified bottled water. The Smile formula contains food-grade, non-GMO xylitol and is intended to help patients maintain their oral health between dental visits.

“People need ways to maintain oral care between visits, and xylitol is a great option,” said Chris Kammer, DDS. “With each 17-oz bottle containing two grams of non-GMO xylitol, I would recommend people drink three bottles a day for maximum impact and for increased hydration as well.” The whole purpose of the Smile formula is to provide an enhanced water option for those interested in natural solutions for their oral care.

The core of the Smile formula is ultra-purified spring water from rural Georgia. The addition of xylitol to the water creates a subtle cooling effect and a slight sweet flavor. Smile also contains electrolytes.

“[The] Smile formula is a medium for education for consumers,” said CEO and founder Andrew Coulton. “The water aisle is not where consumers are used to seeing xylitol or any other type of oral care [product]. Water is something consumers buy every week at the store, and now, through New Nature Enhanced Water, they can become more educated [about] the possibilities for natural oral care and the benefits of xylitol.”

With consumers spending 14 billion dollars a year on bottled water, Aquation saw the opportunity to educate consumers on oral care through a product most people drink every single day.

Aquation’s New Nature Enhanced Water line is currently available at Whole Foods and other upscale groceries.
