Rock Hill, S.C.— KOMET’s cutters with NE toothing, designed to work on non-precious alloys, is available in a new size. The H89NE.104.040 instrument joins six other cutters with NE toothing currently available — H79NE.104.040; H138NE.104.023; H139NE.104.023; H129NE.104.023; H251NE.104.060; and H77NE.104.023.Prosthetics made from non-precious metal alloys require extensive recontouring versus that of precious alloys. Cutters with NE toothing minimize the recontouring time required because of its unique blade configuration. It offers fast, effortless results. Substance removal such as large sprues, metal crowns, and cast metal framework is performed with little effort. Cutters with NE toothing, made from tungsten carbide, are easily recognizable by their aggressive appearance. When used properly, a cutter with NE toothing will maintain a longer service life than traditional laboratory carbides. To complement the cutters with NE toothing, KOMET features cutters with NEF toothing with a multitude of ergonomically designed, nick-free cutting blades that produce an ideal surface finish on non-precious alloys. Despite its aggressive cutting capabilities, chrome cobalt model cast frames cut with cutters with NEF toothing, recognized by its red and green rings, display a highly smooth surface. Therefore, minimal polishing is necessary. Additionally, their unique blade design creates less vibration resulting in less operator fatigue. Tiny metal fragments created by the cutting process are virtually harmless and not irritating to skin.
