FIT 852 Resin debuts

Resin from Esstech is a methacrylated urethane monomer that shrinks 2% on cure, without filler.

Esstech announces FIT 852 Resin, a methacrylated urethane monomer that shrinks 2% on cure, without filler.

Formulators know composites contract during polymerization. The industry
standard resin, BisGMA, can shrink as much as 5% upon curing. UDMA, another common resin base, loses up to 4% of volume when polymerized.

Resin shrinkage can cause restorations to fail prematurely. Industry studies prove internal stress, caused by shrinkage strain, drives debonding, fracture, leakage, and decay.

Now, Esstech has advanced dental monomer technology. Tested by independent labs, FIT 852 Resin delivers the following characteristics:

* Volumetric shrinkage: 2.0 to 2.5%
* Conversion: 65 to 80%

FIT 852 Resin equals the properties of some of the best finished composites on the market.
