Paradise Dental Technologies introduces the Platypus ortho flosser

June 11, 2008
With the product, a patient can floss his or her mouth in one to two minutes.

MISSOULA, Montana--Paradise Dental Technologies Inc., has introduced a patent-pending product flossing device.

Traditionally, patients with braces have had to thread floss under the wire for every tooth. This oftens takes up to 15 minutes. Now with the Platypus, a patient can floss his or her mouth in one to two minutes.

The Platypus is efficient and simple to use. It can increase patient compliance up to 80%.

"Six months ago, Laura presented like most 11-year-old orthodontal patients, with inflamed tissue and plaque around her brackets," Scott Green, DMD, from Frenchtown, Mont., said. "On this recall, her gums were pink and there was no plaque. The Platypus made a big difference."
