CHICAGO--According to a poll of more than 200 dental hygienists during the Under One Roof 2009 conference, three of the top current dental products are manufactured by Sunstar Americas.

These results are published in the October 2009 issue of RDH® magazine.

The GUM Alcohol Free Chlorhexidine Gluconate Oral Rinse is an FDA-approved CHX rinse that contains no alcohol. Studies in the U.S. and Europe have shown that a nonalcohol CHX rinse is equally as effective as one with alcohol, but does not cause stinging and discomfort like alcohol rinses often do.
The GUM brand Chlorhexidine Gluconate Mouth Rinse is available by prescription and is available at major retail pharmacies. Professionals can purchase the product directly from Sunstar or its dealers.
The GUM Summit+ Toothbrush statistically outperforms leading toothbrushes in cleaning and plaque removal, but is gentle on gums and tissue.
GUM Soft-Picks are a comfortable and effective alternative to floss. Their design features 76 soft-rubber bristles that massage and stimulate gums to promote blood circulation and healthy, firm gum tissue.
