American Medical Technologies, Inc. ("AMT") announced that Biolase Technologies, Inc. has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against it in Federal District Court for the Central District of California. The lawsuit alleges, among other things, that the Company's Cavilase laser, which is under development, infringes one or more Biolase patents. The suit seeks, among other things, injunctive relief and an unspecified amount of actual and trebled damages.
"Having just received the complaint, we and our attorneys are studying the Biolase claims to formulate appropriate legal and business responses to the lawsuit," stated Roger Dartt, Chairman. "We certainly intend to vigorously defend the lawsuit."
