(AMEX:EDT), a leading provider of e-Learning and business solutions to the healthcare industry, has announced that the Companys shareholders approved the corporate name change to EDT Learning, Inc. at the annual meeting of shareholders held at the Companys Phoenix headquarters. The name change was previously approved by the Companys Board of Directors and is effective immediately. The Company's common stock will continue to trade on the American Stock Exchange under the trading symbol, "EDT."
"We believe the EDT Learning name more adequately describes our expanding e-Learning services and expansion of our client base outside the dental vertical," said James M. Powers, Jr., president and chief executive officer. "With e-dentist, we developed core competencies in training non-technical audiences and providing excellent custom content development. The name change is evidence of our commitment to being an e-Learning provider to organizations inside and outside of the healthcare sector seeking to train and reach non-technical users. In addition, the Company will continue to grow the e-dentist.com portal with new services. We remain confident that our new corporate identity and strategic focus will offer exceptional value to shareholders."
In the other formal business conducted at the meeting, shareholders elected George M. Siegel as a Class C Director to serve until the 2004 annual meeting. In addition, shareholders approved certain amendments to the Companys 1997 Stock Compensation Plan and ratified the Company's independent auditors for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2002.
