Dr. Howard Glazer chats to Dr. Pamela Maragliano-Muniz about what he looks for when he tests dental products. He acknowledges that he doesn’t have a lab or testing facility, so his criteria is simple. He opens the box. Does the product work? Is it faster, easier, and better for the doctor and patients? Is it reasonably priced?
Dr. Pam asks if he reads the instructions for use (IFU). He says he does because it’s the correct way to get the most out of a product. Both dentists recommend reading the IFU because even if someone is using a product, they may find they are not using it correctly.
When someone wants to try a new material, Dr. Glazer recommends becoming educated about the product by reading up on it, listening to your peers, listening to podcasts, and of course, reading reviews such as Dr. Glazer’s. He believes dentists have a lot to share with each other that can save them a lot of headaches.
