Millennium Dental Technologies announces inaugural user's group meeting

Feb. 9, 2004
Participants will meet at the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa in Huntington Beach, California on February 13 and 14.

Millennium Dental Technologies, Inc. (MDT) has organized the very first user group meeting in the company's history. The meeting participants will meet at the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa in Huntington Beach, California on February 13th and 14th.

The meeting was organized for MDT customers who use the company's PerioLase MVP-7™ pulsed Nd:YAG laser in the company's proprietary protocol for the treatment of gum disease known as Laser ANAP™ (Assisted New Attachment Procedure).

World renowned periodontist, researcher and professor, Dr. Raymond A. Yukna will be presenting the results of his human histological research conducted at Louisiana State University regarding the scientific evidence of Laser ANAP to regenerate some of the lost tissues destroyed as a result of periodontal (gum) disease, particularly new cementum and new connective tissue that attaches to the tooth in health.

Dentists who use other laser devices are welcome and encouraged to attend as well. Dr. Delwin McCarthy, one of Millennium's founders noted, "We want our meeting to be inclusive, not exclusive of other non laser dentists and those who use other manufacturer's laser devices."

To that objective, one of the speakers at the Millennium User's Meeting is Dr. Glenn van As from North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada who uses a hard tissue erbium laser manufactured by another manufacture. Dr. van As will be lecturing on clinical applications of erbium lasers and microscopic dentistry.

Dr. McCarthy continued, "All lasers have wonderful, and in many cases, different clinical applications. Most lasers from different manufacturers have very different operating parameters even if they are the same wavelength like an erbium hard tissue laser, for instance."

Dr. Robert Gregg, a practicing dentist and the other co-founder of Millennium added, "Our goal at Millennium Dental Technologies is to make our customers aware of all the different laser device options they have for their patients. That way our dentist customers and others can make the best technology and treatment decisions for their patients and for their practices."

106 attendees have already registered along with 67 dentists to attend the lecture presentations. "This is an impressive number of attendees for a first-time user's group meeting", noted Dr. Rick Williams, the meeting's Moderator and a laser clinician of 14 years who has been involved with several early laser group organizations.
