Burbank Dental Laboratory (BDL) has initiated a drive to increase the level of technical expertise within its technician team. As part of this initiative, Burbank has just certified six additional technicians as Certified Dental Technicians (CDTs), with a goal to certify a majority of their technical team in the next two years. Currently they have CDTs in the specialties of crown and bridge, ceramics, and removables, with technicians in process for the relatively new specialty in implant restorations.
BDL and its technology division, Advanced Technology Center (ATC), have both achieved the honor of becoming Certified Dental Laboratories during 2013 and 2014. This is a distinction for which only a few labs qualify. To be a Certified Dental Laboratory, the requirements are to have CDTs supervising the various departments, and to show that quality assurance programs are in place.
These efforts have been implemented at Burbank Dental Laboratory in their ongoing efforts to increase the level of excellence that they can deliver to dental practices. Their mission is to create “Smiles By Design” every day.
