Lanmark360's Dental Geek blog seeks contributions from dental professionals

Lanmark360, a health-care advertising, marketing, and communications agency specializing in the dental industry, recently launched a blog called The Dental Geek.

The blog’s mission is to encourage discussions about the latest industry issues, trends, news, and events currently shaping the dental profession. In addition, The Dental Geek will provide advanced insight into new products and technologies that are considered game changers.

The Dental Geek is the creation of Michael McCarthy, managing partner and chief strategy officer for Lanmark360. McCarthy serves as the “Chief Geek” and moderator. The Dental Geek also features contributed posts from Lanmark360’s internal Dental Geek Team and welcomes outside participation from key opinion leaders (KOL) as well as other dental professionals including general practice dentists, specialists, dental and hygiene students, dental assistants, office managers, dental lab owners, and certified dental technicians.

“A funny thing happened while we were tweaking the Geek, to perfect its format,” says McCarthy. “It became recognized as a legitimate online media outlet for dentistry. In fact, we’ve been receiving dental industry news releases, requests for executive interviews, and guest posts from KOLs. We’re not here to compete with the dental media, but we do appreciate having a robust content pipeline.”

For example, in the past few months, The Dental Geek interviewed the CEO of ClearCorrect, Jarrett Pumphrey, regarding his company’s new charitable endeavor called “Phase Out,” and featured the first of a three-part blog series on dental career management from KOL Kristine Hodsdon, RDH.

“We have many more exclusive industry interviews and KOL guest blogs in the pipeline,” explains McCarthy. “Plus, we’re launching a guest blog submission contest, where any verified dental professional will receive a Dental Geek T-shirt if their blog post is approved.”
