DENTSPLY Ceramco to open new dental lab training center

Sept. 19, 2002
New facility to offer up-to-date training for technicians and to help fill the void in specialized training for dental lab technicians

DENTSPLY Ceramco today announced the details of its new dental laboratory training facility set to open this month in Burlington, N.J. The dental industry's newest training center will be staffed with a faculty of 25 professionals who will conduct a range of training sessions in a three-level curriculum, from introductory classes for technicians who are new to the business, to advanced and master level courses on topics such as metal-free restorations and creative ceramics.

The facility, located immediately adjacent to Ceramco's corporate headquarters in central New Jersey, features a training room completely outfitted as a full-service dental lab, and a room equipped to train technicians on Ceramco's new Cercon® SmartCeramics system. Also located in the new training center is Ceramco's national help desk, with a team of fully dedicated, qualified technicians available by telephone to assist dental technicians. The help desk responds to more than 1,500 calls per month.

"Our new facility will offer up-to-date training for technicians and it will help fill the void in specialized training for dental lab technicians," said Arlo H. King, Ceramco's Director of Education and Technical Services.

"State-of-the-art equipment will enable our trainees to learn about the latest advances in cosmetic restorative technologies and materials," he said. Ceramco plans to open a West Coast training center in Yucaipa, Calif. in 2003, and both facilities will offer a three-level curriculum, ranging from basic to master level.
