DentistryIQ and Endeavor Business Media are pleased to announce that Andrew Johnston, RDH, has been named Editor in Chief. He succeeds David Rice, DDS, who has guided the publication through a period of growth, evolution, and deepened engagement with the dental community.

“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to step into the role of Editor in Chief at DentistryIQ,” Johnston said. “This publication has been shaped by thoughtful leadership, trusted voices, a high level of expertise, and a deep commitment to serving the entire dental community. I have tremendous respect for Dr. Maragliano, Dr. Rice, and everyone who had a hand in building this up. I will do my best to honor their work while continuing to evolve the conversations in this space in ways that are practical, meaningful, and inclusive.”

Johnston added, “I’m very thankful to continue working with my friends at Endeavor B2B and excited for this new role. If you have ideas on how we might collaborate, be sure to shoot me an email at [email protected]. I look forward to working with so many talented professionals.”

Reflecting on his time leading the publication, Rice shared, “It has been an incredible journey serving as Editor in Chief of DentistryIQ—a position that allowed me to connect with so many outstanding dental professionals. I’m filled with immense gratitude for the time I’ve spent here and for the fantastic team I’ve had the privilege of working alongside.”

“As I look ahead,” Rice continued, “my focus is now fully on IGNITEDDS and on supporting the dentists and teams we coach—the vision I’ve been building for the past 12 years. At the same time, I couldn’t be more confident or excited about DentistryIQ’s future. I’m truly honored to pass the baton to one of dentistry’s finest and a wonderful friend, Andrew Johnston. I wish Andrew and the entire DentistryIQ team every success—and as I sign off every communication, I know that together, we rise.”

With this leadership transition, DentistryIQ looks ahead to its next chapter—building on a strong editorial foundation while continuing to serve clinicians, educators, and industry partners with relevant, trusted, and forward-looking content.
