Ask Dr. Christensen: Should fiber-reinforced resin-based composite posts be sandblasted before cementation?

In this week's video, Dr. Christensen addresses sandblasting composite posts before cementation. He notes that most dentists use fiber-reinforced posts that are basically composite resin. These are so porous there’s no problem obtaining retention. Can you roughen the internal of the canal before you cement? Yes, and Dr. Christensen has been encouraging this for a long time. But they should not be sandblasted unless threre is a lot of saliva, blood, or debris on the post. He concludes that sandblasting is elective. Watch the video to find out why.
