GC America Brings Compassion and Caring to Underserved Kids
GC America Inc. (GCA) is proud to have been a part of an amazing
two-day charity event that brought compassion and caring to people in need of dental service. The Texas Mission of Mercy was a collaboration of the Texas Dentists for Healthy Smiles, Dallas County Dental Society and its Foundation, and Texas A&M-Baylor College of Dentistry. This local effort to support "Give Kids A Smile Day" took place on February 20-21 and was held at The Science Place in Fair Park.
The mission provided free restorative dental care to adults and children of Dallas. The dental community screened over 400 patients the first day, and treated over 350 of them. This two-day event was a combined effort from over 100 volunteers that were not only from the dental community, but also from the general public. Dr. Larry Herwig of Dallas, Texas was one of the volunteers that helped coordinate this event. Dr. Larry Herwig said, "The second day was for the children only and we created many smiles".
GC America Inc. donated many dental products that were critical for the event: such as GC Fuji IX, a packable posterior glass ionomer restorative; GC Fuji II LC, a Light-cured resin reinforced glass ionomer restorative; and GC Fuji Triage, a glass ionomer sealant and surface protection material. GC America Inc. is proud to have been a part of this rewarding event.
