BIOMET 3i and Cadent announce an innovative collaboration to simplify esthetic restorations

Two leaders in the dental marketplace — BIOMET 3i LLC and Cadent, Inc. — have announced a collaboration to offer digital intraoral impressions through BIOMET 3i's patented Encode® Impression System and Cadent's iTero System.

Clinicians can now make an impression of a healing abutment with the use of an intraoral wand that will scan embedded codes on the occlusal surface of the abutment. These codes indicate the implant depth, hex orientation, platform connection, and connection type (Certain® Internal Connection or External Hex Connection) to design and mill the definitive abutment.
