Dr. Matt Nejad explains the rather abstract concept of biomimetic dentistry in terms everyone can understand, as well as why he believes it's a good way to approach restorations.

Biomimetic dentistry is an approach to dentistry that values the natural properties of the tooth and strives to mimic that. Dr. Matt Nejad is an esthetic and biomimetic dentist in California who said that his patients are often misinformed about what biomimetics is.

He explains to them that what's best for a tooth is to restore it as closely to its original properties as possible. There are different ways to approach this, but it often boils down to doing a conservative restoration that involves a combination of approaches and tools.

There is a lot of science behind biomimetic dentistry because certain technologies and equipment make the job easier. He elaborates on some of the tools and methods that work best for him, saying, "Good tools and materials make all the difference."
