After-hours dental care: Who're they gonna call?

Sept. 22, 2020
How do you handle after-hours dental care—emergencies and otherwise? Do you have a protocol for letting patients know how to contact you again after treatment should they have further concerns?

Four individuals who are not patients-of-record in my practice called for dental care over the weekend. This made me think about how we let patients know how to reach us after treatment if they have further concerns.

What is your protocol for handling this, specifically for after-hours emergency or urgent care? How does your answering service get involved? Does your local ER have your contact info should they admit patients with dental emergencies?

Drop me an email and let me know what works and what doesn’t in your practice.
