Nonprofit seeks dental and healthcare volunteers in Fort Smith, Arkansas

RAM is a nonprofit delivering free dental, vision, and medical services. They are currently seeking volunteers for a two-day pop-up clinic this October.

Volunteer medical, dental, and vision professionals are needed on October 24th and 25th for a two-day pop-up clinic in Fort Smith, Arkansas. This event is designed to provide free, quality health and dental care to patients in need and is supported by nonprofit provider, Remote Area Medical (RAM).

General support volunteers are also needed to aid in set-up and takedown on October 23rd and 25th, as well as overnight parking volunteers to greet patients. Volunteer interpreters can help patients navigate parking and during clinic operations.

RAM is an organization that serves in-need community members with free healthcare services through pop-up clinics like this one. It will be hosted by Arkansas College of Dental Medicine and The Degen Foundation.

In a press release announcing this pop-up, RAM notes: “If you or your organization would like to volunteer your time to help provide free healthcare services to the Fort Smith and surrounding communities, please visit our website or call us at 865-579-1530. RAM’s free clinics are a lifeline for underserved communities, offering free dental cleanings, dental fillings, dental extractions, dental X-rays, eye exams, eye health exams, eyeglass prescriptions, eyeglasses made on-site, women's health- pregnancy test, breast & pelvic exams, and general medical exams. By bringing healthcare directly to those in need, RAM removes the barriers of cost and distance that often prevent people from seeking care.”

IDs are not required for treatment and services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached.
