Dear Colleagues letter from Lynn Mortilla for May 2010 DAD

May 14, 2010
In the May 2010 issue of Dental Assisting Digest™, ADIA Executive Director Lynn Mortilla addresses her colleagues about recent and upcoming Association of Dental Implant Auxiliaries (ADIA) meetings that give participants an opportunity for education and camaraderie.

Dear Colleagues,

The home of the Super Bowl champions was the site for another touchdown meeting. The ICOI Spring Symposium, the 13th IPS Symposium, and the Association of Dental Implant Auxiliaries (ADIA) kept participants at the Marriott Hotel on Canal Street in New Orleans busy with education and camaraderie April 22 through April 24.

The auxiliary program was top-notch with an impressive array of presenters and some noteworthy additions. The lunch and learn sessions were brimming with activity and interaction as 10 simultaneous small-group topics were presented.

Our popular certification programs (dental hygiene, dental assisting, practice management, and implant coordinator training) were enhanced to give attendees task-specific hands-on activities to enhance the theories presented.

We were also pleased to have Kevin Henry speak on “Going Green in the Dental Office,” just in time for Earth Day. A big thanks goes to Teresa Duncan, ADIA communication manager, for hosting a fabulous weekend. We appreciate the hard work and dedication of all our speakers and lunch-and-learn presenters. We also wish to thank our sponsors — ChaseHealth Advance, Hu-Friedy, Colgate, Astra Tech, InfoStar, Lighthouse Plz, Savin Dental Specialties, SomnoMed Academy, Hydrabrush, and Surgitel.

Thank you to all the attendees for their dedication to education and their wonderful interaction all weekend. We look forward to our future meetings in Hamburg, Germany (which will also be live on the Internet for auxiliaries) and Las Vegas. Keep an eye on our Web site at adiaonline.org for all the information!
