Analysts at the Pew Research Center recently published data from a survey which asked Americans questions about their experiences with the new healthcare exchange that opened October 1.
The survey was conducted October 9-13, during the second week the exchange was open, and interviewed just over 1500 adults. Of those 1500, approximately 180 were uninsured. Of those uninsured, about 22% reported that they had tried to use one of the exchange sites.
Forty-two percent of the uninsured Americans surveyed and 19% of those with insurance who had not yet visited a healthcare exchange site said they planned to soon.
Additionally, 65% of those uninsured said they hope to get insurance within the next six months.
