2007 Board of Directors ... On Oct. 18, 2006, in Las Vegas, the 2007 AAWD Board of Directors was installed. Congratulations to Dr. Lanette Sikes of Houston, Tex., who will become AAWD’s 86th president on Jan. 1, 2007. Thank you to Dr. Sandra G. Local Chapters ... Local chapters are forming everywhere. We’ve had great interest from women dentists all over the U.S. If you’re thinking about forming a chapter, we can help. If you’re willing to oversee the start-up of a chapter, here are some easy steps to get you started.
➊ Survey the women dentists in your area to gauge interest.
➋ Call AAWD headquarters for a copy of the Local Chapter Start-up Handbook. This handbook contains step-by-step information on starting up a local chapter, including electing the inaugural Board of Directors, setting up a bank account for the chapter, and sample bylaws.
➌ With the help of some great corporate sponsors including National Dentex Corporation and Sullivan-Schein Dental, we can help you plan a kick-off reception to introduce AAWD to the women dentists in your community.
➍ Submit your chapter’s paperwork to headquarters and plan your activities for the upcoming year.
