BREA, California--Professionally communicating the important details on a patient case can make the difference between creating a high-quality procedure or a difficult, complicated one.
VITA's new ShadeAssist shade communication software takes the guesswork out of case planning and helps streamline the process by creating a detailed prescription and case planning document that can be printed or transmitted via e-mail.
ShadeAssist can be used as a stand-alone software in which VITA shades can be entered manually for case planning and patient data storage, or in conjunction with the VITA Easyshade Compact in which data is imported automatically for a digital shade solution.
First, a patient's shade information is created and retained within ShadeAssist by selecting which tooth is to be treated--either by its tooth number or from a pictorial tooth chart. Once these notes are created, additional drawing tools allow for further information and clarification.
Case-related digital photographs may also be imported into the software for viewing of esthetics and characterization considerations. The observer is able to analyze the tooth more accurately by viewing influential nuances and the effects of translucency in addition to the tooth's base shade. Feature tools for brightness and adjustment of contrast are included.
