The ADAA is about to take a historic step, and you, the dental assisting professionals reading this e-newsletter, are probably the very people who will make it happen.

We are formally announcing the creation of a brand new membership category of the ADAA called the e-member, starting in January 2010.

This brave move will open our ranks to those of you who wish to take the first step into the association that represents all dental assistants, dental administrators, practices managers, and educators. And the very best part is, IT WON’T COST YOU A PENNY!

E-membership is for professionals like you who turn to the Internet to stay connected. You will find information and education to get ahead in your career and stay there. It is for those in the dental assisting field who want to learn more about the American Dental Assisting Association and the benefits it has to offer just by signing on to our new electronic level of membership.

Very soon you’ll receive an e-mail, compliments of the fine people at PennWell, which will invite you to sign up for the ADAA e-membership by directing you to our Web site. Here you will supply us with the information we need to make you a part of our professional organization.

As a welcome gift, we will provide you with an hour of free online continuing education and explain how easy it is to take advantage of some of the benefits we have to offer.

As a new e-member of the ADAA you will have access to:

  • A special online edition of the Dental Assistant Journal
  • A link to our online employment service partner, www.dentalworkers.com
  • Access to apply for our ADAA credit card
  • Discounts for car rentals and hotels
  • Online newsletters
  • Discounted personal service programs for medical services, prescription drugs, and identity theft protection

Our “active” members will continue to receive all their current benefits, including professional liability insurance, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, a hard copy subscription of the Dental Assistant Journal, and access to members-only content on the ADAA Web site. They will continue to enjoy the privilege of holding local, state, and national offices. Of course, we are constantly working to expand the benefits to this fine group of professionals and hope to offer a discounted medical services program and credit card processing opportunities to them this year.

I urge you to take advantage of e-membership when you receive the e-mail from PennWell. Be one of the first to enhance your professional and personal life, and take the first step toward becoming an active member in the ADAA and participating in our development and leadership.

If you have questions regarding e-membership, feel free to contact Nancy Rodriguez at ADAA: [email protected].

We are doing our part to make this a bright and productive 2010. Join us!
