DENTSPLY names new CFO

Dentsply International Inc. recently announced a new cheif financial officer for their firm.

Chris Clark is assuming the role of president and chief financial officer, according to a news release.

Clark served for the past six years as president and chief operating officer and joined Dentsply in 1993, the release stated.

Dentsply also announced Jim Mosch, currently executive vice president, will be promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer, according to the release.

The moves come as William Jellison has resigned as senior vice president and chief financial officer to pursue another business interest, the release stated.

MDE re-brands company as OneMind Health

Mercury Data Exchange (MDE), has rebranded to a new company name, OneMind Health, effective April 10, 2013. Along with its new name, OneMind Health has launched a refreshed brand identity and accompanying website.

"Our new brand is intended to reflect our passionate commitment to helping our customers run the business side of their practice with better results and less effort," said Richard Moore, president of OneMind Health. "We accomplish this by collaborating closely with experts from payer and provider communities, uncovering their biggest challenges and creating cost-effective, timely solutions."

The brand reflects the company's desire to improve collaboration and better communication between the three core groups in health care, payers, providers and patients. In conjunction with an imminent new product launch, the new brand will focus on enhancing each step of the revenue cycle, providing practices of all sizes with ways to improve workflow, accelerate treatment acceptance, and simplify collection and payment processing.

"The new brand is the first step in demonstrating our determination to support dental practices in improving their business processes," continued Moore. "As we move forward with our new brand, we will enhance our dental product suite to further strengthen and simplify the revenue cycle. Further, OneMind Health is well positioned to expand toward additional verticals in order to better serve current and potential customers at this critical time in health care."

Medicom unveils new identity

A.R. Medicom Inc. has unveiled their new global identity that reflects the company's position as a worldwide organization and elevates the brand to assert the organization's leadership status in the category.

Commenting on the Medicom global identity, Ronald Reuben, Founder and CEO, said, "After 25 years of success, our new brand identity marks the beginning of the next chapter of our organization, and it represents a fantastic opportunity for us to do something historic and game changing. The new identity was officially unveiled at the International Dental Show on March 12, 2013 in Cologne, Germany. The visual identity will be rolled out through packaging, online, advertising, communications, and other vehicles.

NDC Dental makes a charitable donation

NDC Dental recently donated funds in support of Dental Lifeline Network at the 2013 annual meeting. Dental Lifeline Network is a national humanitarian organization providing access to comprehensive dental services for people with disabilities or who are elderly or medically at risk. Dental Lifeline Network's President, Fred Leviton, accepted the donation.

Patterson Companies named one of America's 100 Most Trustworthy Companies

For the second year in a row, Patterson Companies, Inc. has been named one of America's 100 Most Trustworthy Companies in Forbes' annual survey.

To determine the rankings, Forbes turned to GMI Ratings to create the list based on quantitative and qualitative data. The selected companies consistently demonstrated transparent and conservative accounting practices and solid corporate governance and management. The companies also have low incidence of high-risk events and appropriate board supervision.

Finnish Plandent Division enters fast-growing dental market in Russia

Northern Europe's largest distributor of dental supplies, Plandent Division, expands its business into the rapidly growing Russian market. Plandent Oy has acquired 51% of the share capital of the dental supply company Firm MedExpress Company Ltd., based in St. Petersburg. The current MedExpress management, Mr. Dmitry Pavluhin and Mrs. Svetlana Pavluhina, hold 49% of the shares and will continue in their existing roles.

"We believe that Plandent's strong expertise in dental supplies and services combined with MedExpress's long experience in the Russian dental market will open completely new possibilities," said Mr. Tuomas Lokki, Vice President at Planmeca Group. "Planmeca has already had a strong position in Russia for years and our high-tech dental devices are very well known there. With this new cooperation, we can now also offer Plandent's attractive service concepts to Russian customers and further strengthen the sales of our Planmeca equipment."

In February, the fast-growing Plandent Division acquired a new distribution company also in Belgium. Henry Schein opened NASDAQ stock market in celebration of FDI World Dental Federation's "World Oral Health Day"
