Dentistry Online, Inc., home to CAESY Education Systems, announced that Boots, the largest pharmacy in the United Kingdom, has chosen CAESY, CAESY Clubhouse, and The Smile Channel to provide patient education in its dental clinics.

Deproco now sole owner of Septodont, Inc.

Deproco, Inc., has announced the signing of an agreement that would make it the sole owner of Septodont, Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of dental anesthetic and other professional dental products. Septodont, Inc., had previously been held jointly by Deproco, Inc., a privately owned U.S. company, and Henry Schein, Inc. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

Septodont, Inc., the exclusive North American distributor for Septodont products, is also the owner of two additional dental manufacturing groups - Novocol Pharmaceutical of Canada, Inc., and Confi-Dental Products. Novocol, located in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, is the leading manufacturer of dental anesthetics in North America. The company produces a variety of dental anesthetic formulations under its own brand names and for private-label customers in the U.S., Canada, and other international markets. Confi-Dental, located in Louisville, Colo., is the largest U.S. contract manufacturer specializing in dental composites and cements.

California dental unit to use Apteryx's XVa3

XVa3, a product of Apteryx, Inc., a software dvelopment company specializing in software applications for the dental market, has been chosen by the state of California's Office of Medical Dental Services (OMDS) and Delta Dental Plan of California to acquire and analyze dental X-rays and other images to assure compliance with Medicaid guidelines.

"We have developed XVa3 as both a single-user, mobile application for use on laptop computers and as a multiuser large network application," said Kevin Crucs, president and founder of Apteryx, Inc. "In this installation, OMDS and Delta Dental will utilize XVa3 in both formats, with laptops for their field representatives who are acquiring X-rays in the field and for representatives in their respective offices who review remotely acquired images."
