The American Dental Association�s Council on Access, Prevention and Interprofessional Relations has announced the winners of its 2001 Community Preventive Dentistry Award (supported by a generous grant from Johnson & Johnson Oral Health Products) and its 2001 Geriatric Oral Health Care Award (supported by a generous grant from Pfizer Consumer Healthcare Group). Both awards are sponsored annually by the American Dental Association through the ADA Health Foundation.
The Community Preventive Dentistry Award�s first place program is the Assistance League of Portland Children�s Dental Center (Portland, Oregon). Meritorious awards are being presented to �Happiness is a Healthy Smile,� St. Clare�s Hospital and Health Center (New York, New York); Dallas County Sealant Initiative, Dallas County Dental Society and Baylor College of Dentistry (Dallas, Texas) and Anderson Center for Dental Care: Project Adopt - A - Home (San Diego, California).
The Geriatric Oral Health Care Award is being presented to Carolinas Mobile Dentistry (Charlotte, North Carolina). The Council expresses its heartfelt congratulations to all of the award recipients.
