Supporting former classmate who is undergoing chemo

May 30, 2008
Graduates of the 2002 class at Dallas' Caruth program is supporting a former classmate who is struggling with Stage IV B Hodgkins Lymphoma.

We are the graduating class of 2002 from the Caruth Dental Hygiene Program at Baylor College of Dentistry. All of our professors always said we were such a unique class full of energy, intelligence, and mutual support for one another. Even out in the dental field now, people know our class and know how involved and caring we are to one another, as well as to our chosen profession of dental hygiene. It's amazing to hear from fellow hygienists who have been practicing far longer then us how much they admire our class. Obviously, the word is out how great our 2002 class was, and is!

In the Dallas Dental Hygiene Society alone, the President (Amy Frederiksen), First VP (Denise Frank), Second VP (Lisa Dowst-Mayo), Secretary (Sara Vickers) and TDHA Trustee (Laurie Morgan) are all from this 2002 class!

Kristi Molck is also one of the graduates from our class. She was diagnosed with Stage IV B Hodgkins Lymphoma that has invaded the entire lymph system and her lungs.

When fellow classmate named Denise Frank found out about this she came up with a plan. She thought she would contact our graduating class, as well as a few professors we are still close to, and ask each one to donate one hour of pay every month for Kristi's medical treatments. Another fellow classmate, Laurie Morgan, stepped up to be the "treasurer" of this project. Everyone mailed their checks to Laurie, and she made sure the money got to Kristi.

Kristi is undergoing chemo right now and is a single mom with two beautiful children.

Not only was this a great idea but it is unbelievable howmany people responded to the call and immediately starting writing checks andpledging to Kristi. She is now receivingchecks from 16 graduates and one professor, and two of Kristi's co-workers to aid in the enormous cost of her cancer treatments.
