The ADEA/Zimmer Dental Implant Education Teaching Award recognizes an institution and dental educator team that has demonstrated a commitment to excellence and innovation in the field of implant dentistry education. Education and instruction in the field may occur in a variety of settings, including classroom or laboratory environments, clinical teaching or preceptorships, community-based instructional opportunities, or electronically mediated teaching and learning experiences.

“As fellow innovators who recognize the value of multifaceted learning and share a common goal of improving patients’ lives, Zimmer Dental is proud to partner with ADEA in offering this award to support those who are dedicated to educational excellence in implant dentistry,” said Harold C. Flynn Jr., president, Zimmer Dental.

The program provides an award of $25,000 in recognition of excellence and innovation in implant dentistry education. The award, given once every two years, is divided equally between the winning institution and dental educator team.

Rand F. Harlow, DDS, clinical assistant professor and director of predoctoral implant education, accepted the award on behalf of the school.

“In partnership with Zimmer Dental, ADEA is proud to recognize the progressive work of the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry,” said ADEA President Sandra C. Andrieu, MEd, PhD.
