Buckle up … it’s that time again. It’s time to kick into high gear with the end-of-the-year trade show run, starting with the ADA Annual Session early next week in Las Vegas. On the heels of what sounded like a very quiet fall CDA meeting in San Francisco (like many of you, I wasn’t there), it will be interesting to see how busy the exhibit hall is in Sin City. I’ll be in Las Vegas, and will be reporting daily through Facebook (click here to visit my Facebook page) and Twitter (click here to follow me at @kgh23) on the ADA activities.

Much like the craps table at the Mandalay Bay, exhibitors don’t know at this point if they’re going to roll a seven or snake eyes at this year’s meeting. If you’re exhibiting, I’ll be walking around and asking you how things are going. Be sure to watch for my full report from Las Vegas in the next Proofs e-newsletter, coming out on October 18.

Needing your nominations
One of my big projects currently underway is deciding the top 11 people of the dental industry for 2011. This is where I need your help. I want to know who YOU think made a positive difference for our industry this year. Who made our industry better in 2011? This certainly doesn’t have to be the company president or boss. I’m looking for anyone and everyone that is worthy of being acknowledged. I’ve set up a page where you can anonymously submit your nomination. You can click here to nominate someone. Just tell me who you’re nominating, where he or she works, and why he or she should be one of the top 11. It’s that simple. We’ll be honoring this year’s top 11 in a future print and electronic edition of Proofs, so take a few moments and let me know your selections today.

Don't forget about D.C.
Also a quick reminder to you about the annual meeting of the Dental Trade Alliance, coming up November 1-3 in Washington, D.C. It’s exactly what we’re all looking for in a meeting … short and filled with great speakers and networking opportunities. Check out www.dentaltradealliance.org for more information on the meeting.

I’ll see you in Las Vegas. Read on, this is your e-newsletter…
