AAO treasurer
ST. LOUIS, Missouri--Gayle Glenn, DDS, MSD, a Dallas orthodontist, has been elected secretary-treasurer of the American Association of Orthodontists.

The announcement of Dr. Glenn’s election was made during the AAO’s 111th annual session in Chicago. The AAO is the oldest and largest dental specialty organization in the world.
“It is an honor to serve in a leadership position in the AAO,” said Dr. Glenn. “The AAO is an outstanding organization that helps advance the specialty of orthodontics in numerous ways and helps ensure the best possible treatment for orthodontic patients. With an increasingly diverse population, meeting the evolving needs of members and their patients is an ongoing challenge for the AAO. I am honored to be part of this effort.”
Dr. Glenn first joined the AAO Board of Trustees in 2004, representing the Southwestern Society of Orthodontists. The SWSO serves AAO members practicing in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansa,s and the portion of Louisiana west of the Mississippi River.
During 2010-11 Dr. Glenn served on the AAO Board’s executive committee, budget advisory committee, and the governing document task force. Dr. Glenn is a past president of the SWSO and the Texas Association of Orthodontists. She previously was a member of the AAO House of Delegates and the AAO Council on Orthodontic Practice, and served on the Council on Membership of the Texas Dental Association.
In addition to her AAO and SWSO memberships, Dr. Glenn is a member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Association of Orthodontists, the Greater Dallas Association of Orthodontists, the Texas Orthodontic Study Club, the Texas Dental Association, the Dallas County Dental Society, the Oak Cliff Dental Study Club, and the American Association of Women Dentists. She is also active in the American Association of University Women and the American Business Women’s Association.
A graduate of the University of Texas Dental School at San Antonio, Dr. Glenn completed her orthodontic education at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. Dr. Glenn is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. She resides in Dallas.
