Newly created position helps underscore commitment to serving dental specialists.
MELVILLE, New York-- Henry Schein, a provider of health-care products and services to office-based practitioners, has announced that Andreas Meldau has joined the company as president, European dental specialties and exclusive products.Based in Langen, Germany, Meldau will be part of Henry Schein’s International Group, reporting to Bob Minowitz, president of the European dental group. Meldau will also support Henry Schein’s global healthcare specialties Ggoup. Previously, he was CEO of Coltene Holding AG.Dental Button helps reduce patient anxietyIn the newly createad role, Meldau will focus on four strategic specialty categories--orthodontics, implants, oral surgery, and endodontics--to help strengthen the company’s commitment to meeting the practice needs of specialists and generalists who perform these dental services. “With the increasing importance of dental specialties worldwide, we are committed to providing our dental specialist customers with a comprehensive selection of technology-driven products, equipment, pharmaceuticals, and value-added services tailored to meet their practice needs, as we have done for our dental generalist customers for years,” said Stanley M. His extensive background in the dental and medical fields, well-honed leadership skills, and knowledge of the unique markets throughout Europe make Andreas ideally suited for this important role.” Meldau served as CEO of Coltene Holding since 2008. Prior to that, he was chief operating officer of the company’s dental group and CEO of Coltene/Whaledent EMEA. Before joining Coltene in 2002, Meldau was CEO of redIT Services, CEO of AVL Medical Instruments, managing director at Martin Engineering, and sales manager at NCR/AT&T.
