In his new role, Wills will be responsible for leading Nordent’s domestic sales force. As part of the Nordent management team, he will also play a key role in the planning and execution of new products.

“Doug’s experience and expertise is a great addition to our management team,” said Rich Martin, president, Nordent Manufacturing. “He is well respected in the industry, and it is a pleasure to have him working with us.”

With more than 35 years of experience in sales and management, Wills began his career with 3M in 1972, test marketing new dental products. In 1978, Wills joined Ivoclar, an international dental company, to help establish Vivadent in the U.S. with the introduction of Isopast--a micro-fill composite on the market.

In 1981, Wills left Ivoclar to help establish GC International in the U.S. As general sales manager, he led the introduction of the Fuji line of glass inonomers and Exaflex vinyl polysiloxane impression material. Both products introduced new technology to the dental market.

Wills returned to Ivoclar in 1990 to take on a role as executive vice president for the Vivident dental products division. In that role, he instituted dealer programs and managed the acquisition of product lines that would help the company broaden its portfolio of dental products.

In 1996, Wills formed the Management Alliance, an original independent management company in dentistry, to provide management expertise at all levels to smaller dental companies. This enabled them to find their way through dealer procedures and government requirements.

Wills has presented more than 75 seminars on dental materials and procedures, and has published numerous journal articles on topics from how to make dealers more profitable to leading and managing in the dental industry.

“Doug is joining us during a really exciting time at Nordent,” said Tim Irwin, vice president, sales, Nordent Manufacturing. “We’ve seen some tremendous growth over the past year. Doug will help us to meet the demands of our expanding business.”
