March 20 Proofs Note from the Editor

“There's something about shadows because you make your own mind up about what's lurking in them.” — Richard O'Brien
I’ve never been a big fan of dark places. It’s not that I’m really scared of them. I would just rather see something in the light than try to decipher what it is in the dark. When something is in the dark, it’s a lot harder to see all of the detail about what it really is than when something is in broad daylight.
Here’s my plea to you today … come out of the darkness. It’s a strange request, but stay with me for a minute and let me explain.
My biggest job as the editor of Proofs is to try to find content that is valuable for you to read, both in this e-newsletter and in our print edition that comes out five times a year. To do that, I need to know who you are, what you like to read, and what would benefit you the most. I need to know what you like to see in Proofs and what you hope falls into the earth and is never seen again in Proofs. I need to know what will make you better in your job, and how I can help you reach that goal. Sounds simple, right?
Here’s my request. Take about five minutes and answer a 13-question survey for me. Click here to take the readership survey. Be honest and tell me what you like about the magazine and e-newsletter. Heck, you may hate everything about it. Fine, just tell me if that’s the case. Be open. Be honest. Let me know what I can do to improve the publication. Hey, it’s an anonymous readership survey, so why not? Your answers will help me make Proofs more of an asset for you in your career.

You want to know as much as you can about your customers when trying to decide which product will work for them in their practices, right? That’s the same goal I have: to find out what I can about you and your likes to make the product better.
Today, I’m asking you to show your face and come out of the darkness. Give me your opinion. Let me know what you think. It won’t take much of your time, and I will appreciate it very much.
Read on, this is your e-newsletter…
